If you have read my blog posts up to past the one month mark, you will have gathered that I am in love with the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes which were released here in Australia end of Feb (exclusive to Mecca Cosmetica). I have just been picking them up one after the other and fallen head over heels for the colours, the pigmentation, the texture and the general effect that it has on the skin.

Luminous Flush is a highly pigmented poppy pink blush. Luminous Light Ambient Lighiting Powder is one of the high shimmer powders however when mixed together with the strong pink pigment of the blush, the shimmer doesn't quite show through as strongly as it appears in the lighting powder. The blush almost looks matte if I you ask me.

When swatching this product with your fingers, the blush is super powdery which may turn some people off. But let's be honest, who applies powder blusher with their fingers? For this particular blush in Luminous Flush, I recommend using a natural haired brush rather than synthetic as not as much product gets picked up and deposited onto the skin. Luminous flush is highly pigmented and it does add a stain to the skin so a little goes a long long way. As I mentioned in my Mood Exposure and Diffused Heat reviews, I only dip my brush into this product once and blend it along my cheekbones. The colour slowly blends out and intensifies without having to go back for more product.

The lasting power of these blushes lasts all day long and for me, it appears to look more and more natural as the day wears on. The oils that secrete from my skin gives the powder a very sheer glow that gives the cheeks a very subtle flush of colour like I've just been asked on a date by my crush.

Luminous Flush and Diffused Heat are very similar colours. Diffused Heat has a champagne gold shimmer running through it and Luminous Flush is a much more brighter pink shade. But once I apply a sheer layer across the cheeks, both colours look very similar on the cheeks. Do I regret having both in my collection though? Not for a second.

It is unlike any other blush that I own and if you can look past the $50 price tag, I can assure you these blushes will make it worth your while.

What do you think of these blushes? What is your chosen method to apply them? And what eye makeup do you usually pair with these Ambient Lighting Blushes?
